Kundu filed a complaint via email with Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal, requesting strict action against the caller and enhanced security measures.

The mobile number used to make the call, along with the voice message, has been shared with police for investigation.

According to Kundu, he initially received a WhatsApp call from an unknown number but did not answer it. Later, the same number sent a voice message demanding Rs 5 crore.

“If public representatives themselves are receiving extortion threats, the safety of the common man can well be judged from this incident,” he said.

A similar extortion threat was previously issued to Hemant Bakshi, a jeweller and president of the Rohtak Traders’ Association, sparking outrage among local traders who demanded an FIR. However, the police have not yet filed a case in that matter.
