Four disqualified MLAs — Naina Chautala, Anoop Dhanak, Rajdeep Phogat and Prithi Singh — will challenge their disqualification in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) convener Dushyant Chautala said this on Saturday while interacting with mediapersons in Bahadurgarh. The four MLAs had resigned and joined the JJP.

“The four MLAs had resigned several days before disqualification and the Speaker had accepted their resignations. As per my knowledge, the Speaker cannot pass a verdict against former MLAs,” he said.

He said there were several flaws in sections imposed by Speaker Kanwar Pal Gurjar in the disqualification order and the MLAs would approach the High Court to challenge the verdict.
