Foundation stone laid for Rs 1-crore projects in Yamunanagar

MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and Mayor Suman Bahamani laid the foundation stone of four development works costing about Rs 1.09 crore in Ward 8 and 11 of Yamunanagar on Friday.

Municipal Councillors Vibhor Pahuja and Santosh Rani were also present on the occasion. The MLA and Mayor instructed the officials of Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), that special attention should be paid to the quality in all the development works.

They also said that the work should be completed within the stipulated time frame, so that the people of the area could get the benefits of these facilities as soon as possible.

Bahamani said that a road and drainage system would be constructed from house numbers 313 to 319 in Ward 8 at a cost of Rs 31.19 lakh. She added that a new road would be constructed from the fruit shop of Maya Ram to Ghanshyam Dass Malik’s house in Model Town at a cost of Rs 17.98 lakh.

“Several important development projects are underway in Ward 11. Rs 17.33 lakh will be spent on the renovation and beautification of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Park. This project will include various improvements to enhance greenery, improve seating arrangements and enhance the park’s aesthetics. A paved path will be constructed in Ward 11 at a cost of Rs 42.76 lakh,” she said.

The Mayor said that the MC was committed to the overall development of the twin cities and development works were being carried out in every Ward as per the needs of the people.

MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora said the government and the MC were continuously working together for the development of the area, due to which basic facilities were continuously getting strengthened.
