A massive fire broke out at a readymade clothing shop in Sadar Bazaar on Wednesday night. A fire brigade team brought the fire under control in two hours but goods worth lakhs were gutted in fire. The cause behind the fire is believed to be a short circuit.

According to the police, the shop, the incident took place at Fashion Plaza around 11:50 pm on Wednesday night. The fire was so fierce that plaster started falling off the walls.

The fire engulfed the ground, first and second floors. As soon as the information was received, two fire brigade vehicles reached the spot, and brought the fire under control.

Ramanand, fire officer of the Bhimnagar fire station, said, “With great effort, the Fire Department employees brought the fire under control in nearly two hours. The cause behind the fire yet to be ascertained, however, it is believed that it was caused by short circuit,” he said.
