The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) has identified eight Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridors to connect the significant cities of the NCR with high-speed rail-based transit systems.
The Delhi-Alwar Namo Bharat RRTS corridor is among the eight corridors identified by the board, said Union Minister of Housing, Urban Affairs and Power Manohar Lal Khattar in a letter to Union Minister of State for Statistics, Programme Implementation and Planning Rao Inderjit Singh.
“Regarding the Delhi-Alwar Namo Bharat RRTS corridor, I would like to inform you that in the first phase, it has been decided to build the RRTS corridor from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Bawal in Haryana,” states the letter.
It adds that the project would be expanded in the next phase. “I hope that you will be satisfied with this situation,” said Khattar, referring to Rao Inderjit.
Rao Inderjit had written to Khattar twice last year, urging him to get the RRTS corridor from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Shahjahanpur-Alwar in Rajasthan via Gurugram-Dharuhera-Bawal in Haryana commissioned at the earliest.
Meanwhile, a new hangar and Air Traffic Control (ATC) building will be constructed at the Mirzapur-Bachhod airstrip located between Ateli and Narnaul. About Rs 14 crore has been approved for the project. This was stated by state Health Minister and Ateli MLA Arti Singh Rao during her visit to Narnaul on Thursday. The minister said Rs 5.81 crore would be spent on the construction of the ATC building and Rs 8.21 crore on the hangar.
