Govt refuses prosecution sanction against 3 cops

Chandigarh, February 22

The state government has refused prosecution sanction against four policemen, including a DSP, in the case related to false implication of a bus conductor for the murder of a seven-year-old boy at a Gurugram school.

During resumed hearing before the CBI Special Magistrate, a letter refusing sanction was placed on record. Dated February 19, the letter was issued by Rajeev Arora, Additional Chief Secretary for Home. The CBI counsel told the court that he wanted to seek instructions from his department for further proceedings. The counsel representing the victim’s father stated that he would challenge the order by way of a writ. The next date of hearing in the case is March 19. — TNS
