Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday blamed the BJP government for the shortage of LPG cylinders in the state.
Addressing a press conference at his residence, he said the supply of domestic and commercial gas had come to a standstill in the state, making life difficult for the common people. The rising prices of cylinders and the shortage of cylinders proved that the government had failed to meet the basic needs of people.
He demanded that the price hike be rolled back and that the Central and state governments stop black marketing of cylinders.
“Long queues are forming outside gas agencies and warehouses, with people waiting for hours and returning empty-handed. This problem is particularly troubling during the wedding season. The supply of commercial cylinders has been halted, forcing businesses to either shut down or be severely affected,” he claimed.
“On the one hand, the government claims there is no gas shortage, while on the other hand, the supply has been halted,” he added.
'Why no contempt case on SYL?'
In response to a question about the SYL, he said, "Our CM visits Punjab every day, but never mentions the SYL. Haryana has won the case in the Supreme Court. However, the responsibility for implementing it lies with the state and Central governments, both of which are ruled by the BJP. Yet, no effort is being made, and no contempt case is being filed," he stated.
