Govt schools told to submit details about sports infra
Objective is to collect data for future planning
The Department of School Education has directed all government schools in the state to submit detailed information on sports infrastructure and PTI/DPE positions through a dedicated portal.
An official communiqué was issued recently by the office of the Director General, Secondary Education, to the principals, heads, and incharges of all schools. The District Education Officers (DEOs) and District Elementary Education Officers (DEEOs) have also been instructed to ensure timely submission of the information.
“The move aims to collect comprehensive and updated data on sports facilities available in government schools across the state. The exercise is being carried out in coordination with the Sports Department, which seeks to assess the ground realities and utilise the information to formulate plans for further promotion of sports activities in schools,” said an official of the Education Department.
He said a separate portal had been developed by the School Education Department for the purpose. “In case of any technical difficulties or queries related to filling up information on the portal, the schools have been advised to contact the designated helpdesk. The schools may also send their queries via email to the official address provided by the department,” he said.
Meanwhile, Diljeet Singh, DEEO, Rohtak, said the school heads were updating the details on the portal. “The details of all schools will also be compiled after collecting it from the Block Education Officers of the district,” he added.
