Attends programme at Gokalpur ashram in Rewari
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said that Haryana was the land of saints and warriors, where service, sacrifice and ‘dharma’ held a special place in its culture. In line with this rich heritage, the Haryana Government is continuously working not only for economic development but also to strengthen the cultural and spiritual values of the state, he added.
The CM was attending a programme on Saturday at the Gokalpur Shiv Temple Ashram in Rewari. He said to promote cultural and spiritual values, the government was running several programmes, including facilitating pilgrimages to holy places for residents.
He said that the ancient Shiva Temple Ashram of Gokalpur was a living centre of Sanatan culture, faith and traditions. The ancient Shiva temple, believed to have been built during the Mahabharata period, stands here as a witness to our glorious past, said Saini.
Appreciating the three-day Maharudra Yagya and the grand Bhandara being organised at the Ashram, he described it as a symbol of social unity, service and dedication. He also praised the work being carried out by Swami Dheeraj Giri Maharaj, including the operation of an animal hospital, cow service, marriages of poor and destitute girls and educational support for underprivileged children, calling them true acts of service for humanity.
He requested Swami Dheeraj Giri Maharaj to get the gaushala run by the ashram registered so that it could receive assistance from the state government.
