Chandigarh, May 10

The Haryana Government will release fund of up to Rs 50,000 for all gram panchayats to control the spread of coronavirus. Isolation wards will be set up in the villages through these funds and other necessary items associated with Covid treatment such as oximeters, steam machines, thermometers, blood pressure and monitoring machines will also be arranged so that the fight against the second wave of the pandemic could be fought firmly at the village level.

Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala shared this information today after presiding over a meeting of officials of the Panchayat Department.

In order to prevent the spread, 8,000 teams are being formed by the government to increase testing in the rural areas. To curb the infection in the rural areas, Chautala said the government would allocate funds of Rs 30,000 to the villages having a population of less than 10,000. For those with more than 10,000 population, Rs 50,000 would be allocated.
