“A research conducted by scientists in Australia and New Zealand on the milk of Haryana indigenous cows and foreign breeds shows that indigenous cow milk is extremely beneficial for human health, whereas milk from foreign breeds may contribute to certain diseases. Indigenous cow milk not only strengthens physical health but also enhances intellectual ability,” said Acharya Devvrat.

The Governor stated that modern technologies were being used to rapidly increase the population of indigenous cows, with embryo transfer technology being a key method.

“Through this technique, multiple cows can be produced from a single indigenous cow. Currently, the number of indigenous cows in the state is limited, but thousands of high-quality cows can be developed using this technology, each capable of producing 20 to 22 kilograms of milk per day,” he added.

Acharya Devvrat highlighted that excessive use of chemical fertilisers had severely reduced soil fertility. “To restore it, it is essential to adopt indigenous cow-based natural farming. Organic products made from cow dung and urine help improve soil fertility. One gram of cow dung contains around 3 billion beneficial bacteria, while cow urine is a rich source of minerals,” he claimed.

On the occasion, he also announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh to the institute. Various animals from different states were showcased at the event, and Acharya Devvrat demonstrated milking an indigenous cow on stage to inspire the livestock farmers.
