The deceased, identified as Mahak, worked at a private bank in Gurugram.
In his complaint with the police, Mahak’s brother Akshay said Mehak had married Anshul Dhawan of Hisar on September 25, 2025.
Her husband was employed in Gurugram as a chartered accountant and the couple left for Gurugram on February 14.
Later that night, the accused’s father informed the family about an alleged accident.
“However, when relatives reached the spot near Pahsaur village, they found Mehak’s body lying in the fields with deep injury marks inflicted by a sharp weapon. The family alleged it was a pre-planned murder. During the investigation, police found inconsistencies in the accused’s statements. Upon sustained questioning, Anhsul confessed to the crime after initially attempting to portray it as a case of loot. Further investigation is underway,” said spokesman of the Jhajjar police.
