Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya today congratulated Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar, for developing the country’s first electric tractor.

“It shows the power of innovation and research which CCSHAU possesses in abundance,” said Dattatreya. The electric tractor has been developed by the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAE&T), CCSHAU.

“The electric tractor will make farming much more cost-effective. Farmers will save a lot of money which will be a big boost to their sustainable prosperity,” he said.

He urged the engineers and technical experts of COAE&T to take the electric tractor as a product to the global level which would make the dream of ‘local to global’ a reality. — TNS
