Haryana among most unsafe states, claims ex-CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda
Launching an attack on the state government, former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda said Haryana is among the most unsafe states due to the deteriorating law and order situation.
Referring to the recent murder in Karnal and firing incident at Dadri, he said, “Central Government’s own Social Progress Index has declared Haryana the most unsafe state in the country. If every citizen feels unsafe today, the state’s BJP government is responsible for it. There is no law and order left in Haryana. Maintaining public safety is the government’s responsibility,” he said while interacting with the media during a brief visit here on Friday.
Speaking on sports, he backed the demand in Parliament that Haryana should host the 2030 Commonwealth Games. He argued that despite accounting for only around 2 per cent of the country’s population, Haryana has delivered the country’s highest medal tally at international sporting events. — TNS
