Hisar: Suman Saini, the wife of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, has become politically active ahead of the Assembly elections in Haryana. Though she was not visible in political circles before her husband replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as the Chief Minister, she campaigned for her husband in the Karnal Assembly constituency during the recent Assembly byelection. However, the BJP seems to have realised her utility and has decided to give her more exposure in the state. She was the chief guest at the BJP’s OBC morcha meeting held in Hisar on Sunday, where she urged the OBCs to remain united to ensure the return of Saini as the Chief Minister after the Assembly polls.

Aarti Rao may contest from Ateli

Mahendragarh: Lifting the veil over her plans, BJP leader and Union Minister Rao Inderjit’s daughter, Aarti Rao has announced that Ateli is one of the two segments in Ahirwal, from where she is contemplating to contest the upcoming Assembly polls. Interestingly, she revealed her decision in the presence of Rao Inderjit and BJP MLA from Ateli Sitaram Yadav while addressing a gathering in Ateli on Saturday. Actually, Aarti intended to try her luck in the 2019 Assembly polls, but the BJP did not give her a ticket. This time around, she has already announced that she will contest the Assembly polls and is also visiting various Assembly segments to feel the pulse of the people. Earlier, Aarti was keeping her cards close to her chest, now she has openly declared her choice.

Shyam Singh Rana back in BJP

Yamunanagar: Bidding goodbye to the INLD, former MLA Shyam Singh Rana is back in the BJP again. With this, one more name has been included in the list of contenders in the race for the BJP ticket from the Radaur Assembly segment. Rana was elected an MLA on a BJP ticket from this Assembly seat in 2014, but he was denied a ticket by the party in the 2019 Assembly polls. The BJP fielded former minister Karandev Kamboj instead, who lost the elections to Congress candidate BL Saini. Kamboj has been working hard for the last five years to make the party’s position strong in this seat. After Rana’s entry into the BJP, Kamboj’s ticket and that of other party leaders are in danger.

Factionalism in BJP to the fore

Kurukshetra: The brewing resentment among BJP party leaders and factions has started coming to the fore in the BJP as the Assembly polls is approaching. While a local leader, Jai Bhagwan Sharma has openly started holding public meetings against the sitting MLA to stake his claim on the party ticket from Thanesar Assembly constituency, several other party leaders are also lobbying for a ticket for themselves. BJP district chief Ravi Battan says every worker and leader has the right to seek a party ticket, but once the ticket is announced, every worker and leader will work for the party candidate.

A long list of ticket aspirants

Panipat: After the Lok Sabha polls, all political parties in the state began preparations for the upcoming Assembly polls. The political parties and ticket aspirants have paced up their presence among voters. A long list of ticket aspirants in the Congress party from Panipat Rural constituency has raised tension among ticket selectors. Now, by joining the Congress party, Vijay Jain, a former councilor, has added one more aspirant to the Congress’ long list of ticket aspirants. Knowing well that only one leader will get the ticket, aspirants have paced up their movement in the Panipat Rural constituency to woo voters.
