The two lawmakers moved nine attention motions, seeking explanations on the state government’s failure to act on the Supreme Court’s November 10, 2016 order in favour of Haryana on the construction of the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal, the worsening law and order situation due to rising crime and thousands of vacant teacher posts at government schools.
Other issues raised include a tenfold increase in tractor registration renewal fees, the deaths of two basketball players in November after goalposts collapsed and the poor condition of sports facilities, the sharp rise in drug abuse and the open sale of “Planokuf-D” cough syrup despite a ban, shortage of teachers in vocational training institutes, alleged irregularities in paddy and millet procurement, and the issue of Chandigarh being handed over to Haryana.
Aditya Devi Lal has also submitted four starred and two unstarred questions. These seek year-wise data from 2019 to 2025 on murders, rapes, gang rapes, kidnappings, robberies, and crimes against women, traders and Scheduled Castes. He has asked how many youths have died due to drug abuse since Jan. 1, 2019, and how many accused have faced action. Other questions seek details of compensation paid by insurance companies under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana during the past three financial years, question paper leaks in Haryana Public Service Commission examinations from 2014 to 2025, the number of small and medium industrial units operating and closed in the state, and GST scams reported between 2019 and 2025.
MLA Arjun Chautala has also submitted four starred and two unstarred questions, including the total outstanding debt on farmers up to 2025, sanctioned and vacant posts in primary and senior secondary schools and colleges, the number of schools merged since 2019, and sanctioned and vacant posts in the Police Department.
His unstarred questions seek details of sanctioned and vacant posts of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and paramedical staff in the Health Department, and information on government land leased for long periods between 2014 and 2025.
