Haryana govt clears major development projects across 40 departments
CM Saini to personally monitor works to ensure transparency, efficiency
In a significant push to fast-track development, the Haryana Government has finalised procurement processes for projects across more than 40 departments. The decisions were taken at a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Proposals relating to the Power, Public Health, Public Works, Irrigation, Transport and Information Technology departments were approved, and tenders for multiple projects were cleared.
The Chief Minister said he would personally review the progress of the works to ensure transparency and efficiency. “No negligence in development works will be tolerated,” he asserted, adding that every rupee would be utilised judiciously.
Among key approvals, a Rs 100-crore project under the AMRUT-2 scheme for construction of two Ranney wells and a boosting station in Palwal was cleared to strengthen drinking water supply. A 6 MLD water works project worth Rs 53.47 crore in Sirohi Bahali village of Mahendragarh will benefit around 39 villages. An 8 MLD raw water storage tank will be built in Rewari at Rs 27 crore.
Road strengthening projects include Rs 37.89 crore for the Chhuchhakwas–Matanhail road in Jhajjar and Rs 46.20 crore for the Dharsul–Ratia road in Tohana.
An academic block at Government Women’s College, Gurugram (Rs 9.37 crore), an Excise building in Fatehabad (Rs 13.60 crore), and an industrial facilitation centre in Sohna (Rs 12.80 crore) were also approved.
In public transport, procurement of 200 electric buses for Faridabad and Gurugram has been finalised. Electric bus depots will be built in Ambala (Rs 13 crore) and Hisar (Rs 14 crore).
Power infrastructure projects include new 33 KV substations in multiple districts, two 66 KV substations in Ambala and Yamunanagar, and a 220 KV substation in Gurugram at Rs 75 crore. A bridge in Damla village and irrigation remodelling works in Rohtak were also cleared.
