Haryana's Hisar agricultural university VC leads ‘Cycle on Sunday’ event to encourage healthy living

A ‘Cycle on Sunday’ programme was organised at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University to promote daily fitness and a healthy lifestyle among students and staff.

The event, held at the Fletcher Bhawan complex under the campaign ‘Fitness dose, half an hour daily’, was led by Vice Chancellor Baldev Raj Kamboj as the chief guest. The VC flagged off the cycle rally and joined participants, motivating students, faculty, employees and citizens to incorporate cycling into their daily routines.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Prof Kamboj said, “Maintaining health is essential in today’s fast-paced lifestyle and dedicating at least 30 minutes each day to physical activity should become a habit.”

He added that cycling was a simple, affordable and effective mode of exercise that supported both physical and mental wellbeing. The VC said that regular cycling strengthened overall health, improved blood circulation, enhanced energy levels and helped maintain mental balance.
