Hisar college wins wrestling championship

In the women’s section, Adarsh Women’s College, Samalkha, secured the top position.
Dr Dhararmvir Dhillon, national president of the Masters Athletics of India, was the chief guest who honoured the winning players by presenting trophies and medals. Addressing the players, he said a healthy citizen was the real asset of the nation and therefore everyone should take special care of their health. He added that sports should be played in the true spirit, without worrying about defeat or victory, and such competitions should continue as they energise everyone, especially the youth.
Championship observer Prof Balbir Singh Dahiya from Government College, Faridabad, congratulated the college administration for the successful conduct of the championship.
College Principal Dr Vivek Kumar Saini also congratulated the winning teams and appreciated the runner-up teams for their spirited performance, while lauding the Physical Education Department for making the event a success.
Winners
In the women’s freestyle category, Gandhi Adarsh Women’s College, Samalkha, secured first position, Vaish College, Bhiwani, finished second, while Government College, Barwala, stood third. In the men’s section, Government College, Hisar, was overall champion in both freestyle and Greco-Roman categories.
In men’s freestyle, Government College, Sampla, finished second and CRM Jat College, Hisar, third. In Greco-Roman, CRM Jat College, Hisar, secured second position, while Government College, Nalwa, finished third.
