Hisar, July 25
Hisar Inspector General of Police (IG) Rakesh Kumar Arya has urged various organisations and individuals to install CCTV cameras and asked the Police Department to provide technical assistance in installing these.
The cameras are to be installed in five police districts falling in the Hisar range comprising Sirsa, Fatehabad, Jind and Hansi districts.
The IG said the CCTV cameras were helping the police in solving crimes and were proving a deterrent to such incidents.
In a review, the police data indicated that there are 13,434 spots where 27,457 CCTV cameras are installed in the five police districts, which include private and public places.
Arya has directed the SPs of the respective districts to carry out a survey and file a report for placing the additional CCTV cameras in their districts. “These cameras should be installed on strategic places for keeping a close watch on the movement of anti-social elements,” he said, adding that organisations and urban local bodies in the respective towns should also be approached by the police to urge them to install CCTV cameras at strategic public places.
“There are many individuals who are keen on installing the cameras in their houses/offices/business establishments for security purposes. The police should reach out to them to provide technical assistance,” he added.
The IG said the police had also taken the initiative and had installed 192 CCTV cameras in 59 police stations in the Hisar range. — TNS
