Hisar mountaineer among 6 caught cheating in engg aptitude test

Narendra Kumar, a mountaineer from Mingni Khera village in the district, and associated with 'Fit India Movement', is among six persons arrested by the Chhattisgarh Police for allegedly cheating during the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in Raipur on Sunday.

The Raipur police on its official X account posted a video of the arrested persons. Terming the incident as a big expose, the police claimed to have busted the national-level GATE cheating racket. The police also seized electronic devices used to facilitate cheating, it said.

As per the modus operandi, the candidates visited the washroom, inserted the devices into their ears, and activated them. Officials at the exam centre got suspicious and informed the police.

DCP West Zone, Raipur, Rahul Dev Sharma informed 'The Tribune' that all the accused were produced in the court, which sent them to judicial custody. The police had seized electronic devices and other evidences from the accused, he added.
