Rohtak Zila Parishad chairperson Manju Hooda, who has been fielded by the BJP against Congress stalwart and two-time Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency in Rohtak district, has maintained that she did not see any challenge before her.

Questioned about the huge political stature of the former CM, Manju Hooda said he was like a father figure for her.

“He is inclined towards the Congress, while I like the BJP. But he is like a father figure for me and I respect him,” Manju said while addressing a news conference at Rohtak on Thursday. Asked whether she was confident in contesting against Hooda, the BJP nominee replied in the affirmative. “I do not see any challenge. I will seek everyone’s blessings and hope to get their support as I work with passion and honesty. I am confident and will try my best,” maintained Manju.

Questioned about the tag of being gangster Rajesh Sarkari’s, the BJP leader said her husband’s criminal record was a thing of the past as he had been released from jail and transformed himself.

“He has changed completely. He is into real estate business, but donates almost all the money he earns for philanthropic activities,” she asserted, adding that he had never interfered in her functioning as Zila Parishad chairperson.
