The Income Tax Department officials from Delhi on Tuesday raided the residences of the Congress MLA from Adampur, Kuldeep Bishnoi, in Hisar, Adampur and Delhi.

Sources said the simultaneous raids started around 8 am.

The I-T sleuths reached the Hisar residence in Sector 15 early on Tuesday and started the process to carry out raids.

The sleuths did not allow anybody from inside the house to make an exit nor did they let anybody enter the house from outside.

Later, the police also reached at the spot.  The I-T officials are still inside the house.

Some supporters and local political leaders also visited the house of Kuldeep.

Kuldeep Bishnoi, son of former chief minister Bhajan Lal, who was the longest serving chief minister of Haryana is MLA from Adampur, while his wife Renuka Bishnoi represents Hansi segments in the state Assembly.

The couple had won the 2014 Assembly elections as the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) candidates and later merged their party with the Congress in 2016.

Their son, Bhavya Bishnoi, had contested the Lok Sabha elections from Hisar parliamentary seat as a Congress nominee.

Bhavya has been camping in Adampur for the last two days while preparing for the Assembly elections.

Kuldeep and his wife Renuka has also informed their supporters on their Facebook accounts about the raids being carried out by the I-T and alleged that these raids were conducted under the government pressure.

“We will continue to do clean and transparent politics. There is no need to panic,” they wrote on their Facebook accounts.
