IED seized, 3 arrested in Ambala

The local unit of STF arrested three accused and seized an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing around 2 kg of suspected RDX in Barara area late Friday evening.

The accused were identified as Ali Akbar of Ajmer, Anas of Meerut, and Jangveer of Barara. The accused, aged 20-25 years, were on a two-wheeler when they were nabbed.

DSP STF Aman Kumar said STF Ambala incharge Parteek Kumar received a tip-off that three men on a two-wheeler were carrying explosives. Following the information, the accused were intercepted and a bag was recovered from their possession. The exact nature of the explosive will be ascertained after tests. They will be produced before a court on Saturday.
