The ruling BJP has taken the lead in canvassing here on both platforms — public interaction and social media.

The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party -Jannayak Janata Party alliance are yet to finalise their candidates for the Karnal seat.

The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)-?Loktantra Suraksha Party (LSP) alliance have announced their candidates, but their campaigning is yet to pick up pace.

The BJP’s well-oiled election machinery is reaching out to voters through its door-to-door campaign.

BJP candidate Sanjay Bhatia has opened district offices in Karnal and Panipat, along with offices in all the nine Assembly segments.

Apart from assigning duties to ‘panna pramuk’ and ward incharges, the BJP has constituted six teams — three in each district — to take the lead in using the virtual world (social media) to reach the voters.

These teams comprising graphic designers, content writers, video makers, cameramen, video editors, translators, computer experts and others are preparing the content and sharing it on social media.
