Yamunanagar, October 21
The district has observed a decline of nine per cent from the 2014 Assembly elections. All four Assembly seats in the district recorded 73.01 percent mark, around 8.95 percent less than 81.96 per cent recorded in the 2014 elections.
Deputy Commissioner Mukul Kumar said no untoward incident was reported as the polling remained peaceful.
The Jagadhri segment recorded a turnout of 77.3 per cent, the highest in the district. In 2014, 84.74 per cent of voters had turned out to vote. In Sadhaura, 76.3 per cent voters cast their vote. Last time, the voting percentage was 84.86.
In Radaur, voting percentage was as 71.6. In 2014, it was 82.07 per cent.
In Yamunanagar Assembly segment, only 67.8 per cent voters cast their vote, while, 76.41 per cent voters had turned up to polling booths to cast their votes in previous elections.
It will be interesting to watch how this decline in polling would translate into final results.
