Ambala: IT Dept team attacked during survey at firm

The Ambala police have registered a case against employees of a private firm for allegedly attacking a team of the Income Tax Department during a survey in the Saha area on Thursday.

According to a complaint filed by Income Tax Officer Kavita Batra from the Karnal office, the team had reached Nutriwell Laboratories Absolute Nutrition Private Limited in Saha around 11.35 am to conduct a survey.

At around 1.40 pm, a person informed the team about a fire incident on the company premises. Following the information, the officials came out of the firm and waited for the arrival of fire tenders. However, some workers of the company, including a person identified as Paras, allegedly attacked the team.

In her complaint, Batra stated that the officials somehow managed to get into their vehicles, but the attackers tried to pull them out and pelted stones at the vehicles, damaging the windowpanes. The driver of one of the vehicles sustained injuries in the incident. The team later managed to escape with the help of the police. A case has been registered against Paras and some unidentified persons at the Saha police station and further investigation is underway.
