Karnal, April 17

A day after the Karnal police claimed to have cracked the murder mystery of four-year-old Jas, a demand for a CBI inquiry was raised at Jas’ condolence meeting held at Kamalpur village on Sunday.

Family members, relatives and villagers demanded an inquiry by the CBI to know the motive behind the murder. The police have made it clear that Jas’ aunt Anjali had killed him. About the motive, the police have said that she did it in a fit of rage while watching a crime investigation serial.

At the condolence meeting, former CM OP Chautala, state Congress president Kumari Selja, BJP state general secretary advocate Vedpal, Gharaunda MLA Harvinder Kalyan, Assandh MLA Shamsher Singh Gogi and others paid tribute to Jas.

The family members claimed that in the police investigation, the motive of murder was not clear. “We want to know the motive of Jas’ murder. So we demand an inquiry from the CBI,” said family members.

Rajinder Arya, a community member, opined that if the family members are not satisfied with the inquiry, then there should be no problem to give this case to the CBI for a detailed inquiry.

Gharaunda MLA Kalyan assured the family members that their doubts would be cleared. “I spoke to the Karnal SP who is out of station. A committee of members of the society will be formed which will meet the SP to clear the doubts of the family. If the family members not satisfied even then, I will raise the issue with the higher authorities,” said Kalyan. —
