Jhajjar launches 'Message to the Nation' drive to take patriotism to every doorstep
Video van set to travel through villages, towns and urban areas across the district
In a new patriotic initiative, Jhajjar has launched a ‘Message to the Nation’ campaign with a specially designed video van set to travel through villages, towns and urban areas across the district.
The campaign is part of the Har Ghar Tiranga and Vande Mataram initiatives, aimed at turning Independence Day celebrations into a people-driven movement of patriotism and national pride. According to district authorities, Jhajjar is the first district in Haryana to launch the ‘Message to the Nation’ initiative, taking the campaign directly to people across rural and urban areas.
Jhajjar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Varsha Khangwal on Sunday launched the initiative by flagging off the specially designed video van. Before giving the vehicle the green signal, she also wrote her own message for the nation on the van, marking the formal beginning of the district-wide campaign.
She also inaugurated a selfie point based on the Har Ghar Tiranga and Vande Mataram themes on the occasion. The launch event witnessed a display of patriotic spirit, with ex-servicemen joining district officials and sharing their messages for the nation.
Appealing to residents to join the campaign, Varsha said the Har Ghar Tiranga and Vande Mataram initiatives are a mass movement aimed at promoting patriotism, national pride and public participation. “Various activities are being organised across Jhajjar from August 9 to 17 to create a patriotic atmosphere in the district,” she added.
Highlighting Jhajjar’s strong military tradition, the DC said the district is known for its large number of serving and retired soldiers who have contributed to the nation. She said the district’s special ‘Message to the Nation’ video van would travel through villages, towns and urban areas, spreading awareness and encouraging citizens to participate in the campaign.
Varsha urged every citizen to hoist the national flag with full respect at their homes, offices and establishments stating that the awareness van would visit different parts of the district and motivate families to display the Tricolour on Independence Day.
She also called for the active participation of elected representatives, social and voluntary organisations, educational institutions and the general public. Departments and organisations have been asked to work in coordination and spread awareness about respecting the national flag and following the Flag Code.
The DC appealed to residents to encourage their families, neighbours and communities to join the campaign, stressing that the Tricolour is a symbol of India’s national unity, integrity and pride, and its honour is a collective responsibility.
