Jind-bound oxygen truck breaks down in Karnal

Hisar, May 2

A Jind-bound oxygen-carrying truck developed a defect near Assandh in Karnal district, resulting in delay in the supply of oxygen to hospitals in Jind district on Saturday.

Officials, however, denied that the delay in the supply of oxygen was a reason behind any death in the district.

According to sources, the truck was supposed to reach Jind by 4 pm but the breakdown of the truckresulted in a delay of a couple of hours.

Medical Officer Dr Gopal said that they had low pressure yesterday after which they had sought more oxygen from the authorities. The quota of 2.5 tonnes of oxygen that arrived on Saturday would be sufficient for the next two days. — TNS
