Kaithal Superintendent of Police (SP) Upasana has sent all nine members of the ‘Nasa Mukti Jagrukta’ (anti-drug awareness) team to the police lines for alleged indiscipline and violation of provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act during a raid conducted recently in Kaithal city.

However, the inquiry into the case is still going on. DSP (Headquarters) Gurvinder Singh is investigating the issue related to the seizure of narcotics and the alleged non-compliance with procedures under the NDPS Act.

“All nine members of the team have been sent to the police lines for violation of the NDPS Act. The inquiry is ongoing,” said SP Upasana.

The SP denied that the action was linked to the ongoing issue involving a head constable of the team, who had accused a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of threatening to implicate him in a fake narcotics case.
