Kalesar-Kalka stretch to be promoted for tourism

Govt to spend Rs 1,200 cr on project in 5 years: CM

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the government would spend Rs 1,200 crore to develop the area from Kalesar village of Yamunanagar district to Kalka (Panchkula district) as a tourism hub in the next five years.

He said that ‘gram sabhas’ would be held in every gram panchayat on January 26 and every gram panchayat would be given Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for development works.

During his two-day visit to Yamunanagar district, he addressed a public meeting organised by Sadhaura MLA Balwant Singh at Bhogpur Karali village on Thursday.

He also announced to give Rs 5 crore for development works in Municipal Committee, Sadhaura.

Besides making an announcement of setting up a 33 KV power substation in Ranjitpur village, he said that roads of this Assembly constituency would be constructed and repaired.

He said that the construction work of a bridge over Markanda river in the area of Galauri village in Sadhaura segment was in an advanced stage. It would cost Rs 13 crore and would be beneficial to a number of villages in Yamunanagar and Ambala districts.

The Chief Minister said that the Adibadri area of the district was the ‘udhgam sthal’ of Saraswati river and the Haryana Government would spend Rs 50 crore for the revival of the holy river.

He said that the government would construct nine dams in the ghar area of the district to store the water of seasonal rivulets and this water would be used later for irrigation.

“The Haryana Government is taking steps to develop Satkumbha temple of Kala Amb, Trilokpur temple, Kalesar Mahadev temple, Panchmukhi Hanuman temple of Basatiyawala village, Kapal Mochan tirth and Lohgarh, the capital of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur,” the Chief Minister said.

He said that his government had succeeded in nailing corruption. Besides, recruitment for government jobs was being done on merit by their government in the state.

On this occasion, Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora, Radaur MLA Shyam Singh Rana, Mayor Madan Chauhan, district president of BJP Mohinder Khadri, Deputy Commissioner Girish Arora, Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh and Jagadhri SDM Bharat Bhushan Kaushik were also present.

The Chief Minister also visited the house of RSS veteran and president of Saraswati Nadi Shodh Sansthan, Darshan Lal Jain (91), at his residence in Jagadhri to know about his health. It is said that he also held a meeting with him and discussed the Saraswati revival project and other issues.

In the evening, the Chief Minister also held a meeting with officers of the local administration at mini secretariat, Yamunanagar.
