Sanjoli Banerjee (22) from the district has been honoured with the Diana Award for her social and humanitarian efforts. Established in the memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, the award is given by a charity set up in her name.

She received the award by post. “It is the cooperation and trust of the family and society due to which I could work in the fields of climate change and women empowerment,” said Sanjoli while interacting with mediapersons. Sanjoli is also the founder of a free mobile school for rural children. TNS
