Security has been tightened across sensitive and crowded areas, with intensive checking being carried on the directions of the SPs concerned.
The police teams have been deployed at key locations, including inter-state and inter-district checkpoints, to ensure strict vehicle checking. Inspections are also being conducted at public transport hubs, parking areas, hotels, guest houses, and dharamshalas, said Ganga Ram Punia, SP, Karnal.
He said the SHOs have been instructed to intensify patrolling in crowded areas and take strict action against any suspicious or anti-social elements. The police are using sniffer dogs to conduct combing and search operations across the district. Kaithal SP Upasana said the police personnel across the district have been put on alert to maintain law and order and public safety. The police have been directed to maintain a close watch on suspicious persons and vehicles, and to carry out thorough checking at all entry and exit points.
Teams from the crime units and local police stations are also conducting detailed inspections of hotels, dharamshalas, bus stands, railway stations, and marketplaces, she said, adding that special emphasis is being placed in places with heavy public movement to prevent any untoward incidents.

Appealing to the public, both SPs, Punia and Upasana urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police. “If anyone notices a suspicious person staying at a hotel, dharamshala, guest house, bus stand, or railway station, they should immediately inform the nearest police station, police post, or control room,” said Karnal SP Punia.
The Kaithal SP cautioned people not to touch unattended or suspicious objects found at crowded places, as they might contain explosive material. “If you spot any suspicious person, vehicle, or object, or witness any emergency situation, inform the police station concerned or dial 112 immediately. The identity of the informer will be kept confidential,” SP Upasana added.
They confirmed that the security drive would continue till the situation was fully reviewed and stability was ensured.
