The Mayor expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for launching the app and said that under his visionary leadership, urban development in the country had gained new momentum. She said that his vision of balanced development across the nation aligned with the goal of achieving a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.

Commissioner Dr Sharma said the Swachhta Setu app was aimed at empowering citizen participation.

She said the app was built around two ideas - learning through game play and impact through civic participation.

There is an option for students in the app to play and learn about sorting waste, and win points. The application also includes interactive and gamified learning tools for students. They can play waste segregation games, participate in cleanliness quizzes, and see their schools featured on leaderboards.

Ashok Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner (AMC), said, “If a citizen spots a garbage dump, then they can click a photograph, tag the location, and report instantly through the integrated system. The app ensures swift action by authorities while promoting accountability and transparency.”
