Kurukshetra University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Naveen Jindal Foundation (NJF) to establish the ‘AVSAR’ (Advance Vocational Skills for Aspirational and Rewarding Lives) Centre of Excellence for Employability Skills at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET).
The MoU was signed by Kurukshetra University Registrar, Prof Virender Pal, and Dr Maneesh Mishra on behalf of the Naveen Jindal Foundation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva emphasised that the Centre will enhance students’ career clarity, professional confidence and global competitiveness, reinforcing the university’s commitment to holistic student development.
UIET Director, Prof Sunil Dhingra, outlined three key components of the Centre: AI-driven career counselling with personalised mentoring, training in English and employability skills for workplace readiness and global opportunities for international exposure.
The MoU will initially run as a one-year pilot, with plans for scaling up based on results and mutual agreement between the two parties.
