The state government has expanded the scope of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana to benefit more women and enable those from the economically weaker sections to become self-reliant.
Stating that three new categories had been added to the scheme, Rewari Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena has appealed to the eligible women to take advantage of the scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner clarified that as per the scheme’s criteria, the existing beneficiaries having an annual family income of Rs 1 lakh would continue to get the benefits as before, maintaining that the existing benefits for the eligible woman had neither been stopped, nor terminated.The new categories added to the scheme are as follows:
First category: Women of the families whose annual family income is less than Rs 1.80 lakh and whose children are studying in government schools and score more than 80 per cent marks in Class X and XII.
Second category: Women of the families whose annual income is less than Rs 1.80 lakh and whose children achieve grade-level proficiency from Cass 1 to IV under the Nipun Mission of the Centre.
Third category: If a child was earlier found malnourished or anaemic as per the nutrition tracker and becomes healthy and moves into the green zone with efforts of the mother, such mothers will also receive a benefit of Rs 2,100. The annual family income has to be less than Rs 1.80 lakh.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the new categories had been added to the scheme to ensure the empowerment of more women. He said under the Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana, an amount of Rs 2,100 was being deposited in the bank accounts of the eligible women.
“Now, Rs 1,100 will now be deposited directly into their accounts, while the remaining Rs 1,000 will be deposited in a recurring/fixed deposit,” said Meena, adding that the initiative aimed at providing women and their families with immediate financial assistance and also ensure financial security for their future.
The beneficiary woman will receive the amount along with interest on maturity and in the event of the beneficiary’s death, the amount will be immediately transferred to her nominee.
