Leopard sighted at Mahendragarh village in Haryana, high alert issued
Teams from wildlife and forest departments deployed, residents urged to stay indoors, keep their families and pets safe
Mahendragarh Deputy Commissioner Capt. Manoj Kumar has issued a high alert after a leopard was spotted near Dhani Kirarod village of the district on Sunday evening.
Sensing the gravity of the matter, Kumar directed all the concerned departments to remain alert and take necessary action.
As per information, a leopard was seen running in a park and hills around the village on Sunday evening.
Kumar asked the DSP to increase patrolling in the area in order to ensure the safety of local residents.
Teams from Forest Department and Wildlife Department were immediately deployed on the front.
“The wildlife inspector and DFO have been instructed to track the leopard and take appropriate action sop that it can be released back it to its natural habitat,” said Kumar.
The local SDM has also been told to keep in touch with various departments during the entire process.
The local residents have been advised to stay alert and organise self-patrolling in the villages.
