Lord Parshuram’s teachings will strengthen Sanatan culture: Haryana Tourism Minister

State Cooperation, Jails and Tourism Minister Dr Arvind Kumar Sharma has said the ideals and teachings of Lord Parshuram will continue to strengthen Sanatan culture.

He emphasised that Parshuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was not confined to any one community but respected by all sections of society. “He fought against injustice and oppression and worked for the welfare of all. His thoughts and values will fortify Sanatan culture,” Dr Sharma said while addressing a gathering at Brahmin Dharamshala, Kaithal, during a programme organised to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Parshuram.

Dr Sharma, along with state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, participated in a prayer meeting and joined public and party workers in listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme.

Dr Sharma said that Goa has been the karambhoomi of Lord Parshuram. Besides, PM Narendra Modi had constituted a research committee, including included scholars, on the birthplace of Lord Parshuram. Through their research, it was found that he was born at Janapav near Indore. “We should visit this sacred land to offer our respects. There is also a Parshuram Kund in Arunachal Pradesh. In Goa, a weeklong katha is conducted. We should listen to the katha,” he added.

The minister announced the government initiatives, including the construction of a Parshuram Smriti Museum on 4 acres, a medical college named after Lord Parshuram with an investment of Rs 900 crore and several chowks and buildings across Haryana dedicated to him.

State BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli said Parshuram Jayanti is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. He described Lord Parshuram as a symbol of sacrifice, devotion and righteousness, urging society to draw inspiration from his ideals. He took up arms only for the protection of society and to defend dharma. “Society must draw inspiration from his ideals and remain united,” he said, adding that the government, following the path shown by Lord Parshuram is working on the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ and ensuring that its schemes reach the rightful beneficiaries.

He added that PM Modi has continuously announced various schemes to empower and strengthen women. He has taken strict measures against those who tried to dishonour women and has taught a lesson to terrorists. Earlier, Lord Parshuram Chowk was inaugurated.
