Rohtak, November 16
LPG cylinders supplied to a Rohtak agency from a Gurugram-based bottling plant have been found to be under-filled. An inquiry is under way and its report will be sent to the state authorities for action against the culprits.
The matter came to light when a team of the District Food and Supplies Controller (DFSC) office inspected the stock of a local LPG agency following a complaint of gas cylinders being under-filled.
“On inspection, many cylinders were found under-filled. However, the agency proprietor maintained they did not indulge in pilferage. We also checked a vehicle which had brought cylinders from an Indane bottling plant at Bhondsi in Gurugram. Of nearly 300 cylinders, as many as 29 were found to be under-filled up to 1 kg,” revealed DFSC Surender Saini.
Saini said they had reported the matter to the state authorities and also apprised the Gurugram DFSC of the situation and asked him to inspect the Bhondsi bottling plant.
“After getting the report from the Gurugram DFSC, we will recommend appropriate legal action against those found guilty in the matter,” the DFSC said.
