Lt Gen Katiyar inaugurates girl hostel at Kunjpura Sainik School
80-bedded hostel has been constructed to ensure quality residential facilities for girl cadets
Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command Chandimandir, on Thursday visited Sainik School, Kunjpura. He inaugurated the newly constructed 80-bedded girls hostel, which has been constructed to ensure quality residential facilities for girl cadets. The state-of-the-art hostel is equipped with modern amenities designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and conducive environment for learning and growth.
The General Officer was received by Maj Gen Prince Duggal, GOC, PH & HP (I) Sub Area, & LBA Chairman, Captain (IN) Gurbir Singh, Principal, Sainik School, Kunjpura, and Wing Commander Soniya Sharma, Administrative Officer. He was briefed by the Principal about the school’s achievements, infrastructure development and ongoing initiatives aimed at holistic cadet training.
Later, in his address, Lt Gen Katiyar appreciated the school’s role in shaping disciplined, confident and capable young leaders and encouraged the cadets to strive for excellence in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. He also motivated staff and cadets to achieve academic excellence through continued efforts. He also visited hostel facilities and the cadets’ mess.
