Madaan, Panwar family pace up campaigning
BJP candidate and Mayor of Sonepat Nikhil Madaan on Saturday paced up his campaigning and held ‘nukkad’ meetings in over a dozen colonies of the city. Madaan held public meetings in Industrial Area, Malviya Nagar, Jogi Dharamshala on the main Rohtak road, Bharat Puri, Krishan Nagar, Mayur Vihar, Kakroi road, Sector 15, Subhash Nagar and Old Housing Board Colony to seek votes for the BJP.
He said sitting MLA and Congress candidate Surender Panwar had spent five years from 2019 to 2024 as a public representative but no work had been done in Sonepat Assembly constituency. He said the sitting MLA couldn’t count five development works he had undertaken in the last five years.
The Congress MLA didn’t take care of the people of the city in his five-year tenure and he didn’t make any efforts for the development of Sonepat city, Madaan alleged.
Madaan further said that he had also spent his maximum time in opposition but he knocked on all doors for the development of the city and gave his 100 per cent.
He said the sitting MLA was misleading the people by saying that he was in the opposition but the people in Sonepat have decided to bring the BJP government in the state for the third time.
On the other hand, Samiksha Panwar, daughter-in-law of Congress candidate and sitting MLA Surender Panwar, held public meetings in Devi Bada, Dev Nagar, Patel Nagar, Bheem Nagar, Jatwara, Malviya Nagar, Garhi Brahmanan, Dahiya Colony, Pragati Nagar and Sector 33 Super Max City and sought vote for her father-in-law Surender Panwar.
Samiksha said the people were supporting Surender Panwar and they would vote for him.
Samiksha accused the BJP of the deteriorating law and order situation and said that in the name of giving facilities to the people like various IDs, the BJP had tortured the common man. She alleged the ruling party could not even make proper arrangements for the drainage of rain water.
Samiksha said the BJP had derailed development in the state in last 10 years of its tenure. She said MLA Panwar had raised several issues in the Vidhan Sabha but the BJP didn’t pay heed to these issues.
