Man arrested for Rs 4.57 lakh fraud in solar panel deal in Sirsa

The accused has been presented in court and sent to judicial custody

The Sirsa police have arrested the operator of SunPower Solar Solutions on Monday, for allegedly defrauding a victim of Rs 4,57,650. According to the Sadar police station Incharge, Inspector Devender Singh, Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Bharat Nagar, filed a complaint stating that he was deceived by Marinder Singh, a resident of Dhingtania village, who operates SunPower Solar Solutions, a company registered in the name of his wife, Rajbeer Kaur. The victim reported that Marinder Singh, who specialises in installing solar panels, met him at his office in the auto market. Marinder Singh initially offered to install a 3-kilowatt solar system, with the possibility of upgrading it to 10 kilowatts later.

On May 20, 2024, Jaswinder Singh transferred Rs 20,000 into Marinder Singh’s account. In exchange, some equipment was delivered to his home, and Marinder Singh demanded an additional Rs 80,000 in cash.

Following the victim’s complaint, the Sadar police registered a case of fraud against Marinder Singh and his wife. During the investigation, police arrested Marinder Singh from Begu Road, Sirsa. The investigation is ongoing and authorities have assured that anyone involved in the fraud will face strict legal action. The accused has been presented in court and sent to judicial custody.
