Man arrested with 52.8 kg poppy husk in Karnal

A case has been registered at Madhuban Police Station under Sections 15(C) and 25 of the NDPS Act.
The accused has been identified as Charanjit Singh, alias Kaka, a resident of Sidhpur in the Nilokheri block of the district. The operation was carried out by a team led by Sub-Inspector Himmat Singh, in-charge of the Anti-Narcotics Cell.
He was apprehended during a routine checking on Saturday. During preliminary interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to engaging in drug trafficking to earn quick money and fulfil personal desires.
He was produced before a court, which granted a three-day police remand. According to the police spokesperson, further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend other individuals linked to the network.
