Karnal: A 45-year old man was murdered allegedly by his son-in-law and three others in the fields of Gharaunda on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. The victim has been identified as Raj Kumar of Gharaunda. He, along with his wife Suman, was returning home when he was attacked. Suman said that a year ago, her daughter had married Parveen, but he left her after two to three months over some dispute. Parveen had threatened to kill her family, Suman alleged. Investigating officer Krishan Kamar said Parveen, his brother Sonu and two others had been booked under Section 302 of the IPC. TNS
27-year-old stabbed to death
Karnal: A 27-year old man was allegedly stabbed to death here on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. The deceased has been identified as Rinku of the district's Garhibirbal village. He was returning home on a motorcycle after dropping his brother at the railway station when some miscreants accosted and attacked him. They allegedly stabbed him and fled after snatching his purse, mobile phone and the motorcycle. A passerby spotted Rinku bleeding and rushed him to hospital, where he was declared dead. A case was registered against unidentified persons under Section 302 of the IPC. TNS
10 boxes of liquor seized in Kalayat
Kaithal: The police have seized 10 boxes of liquor from a car in Kalayat on Sunday. The car has been impounded. Kalayat police station SHO Suresh Kumar said that on Sunday evening, a police team stopped a car coming from Matour village side. On searching the car, the police found 10 boxes of liquor. Car driver, identified as Sharvan of Jind's Lodhar village, could not produce documents related to liquor. OC
