Cab robbers struck again as four persons took hostage a man headed to Faridabad and fled with the robbed cash and jewellery. An FIR has been registered at the DLF phase-2 police station.

According to the complaint filed by Arun, a resident of Sector 49, Faridabad, the incident took place late on Sunday evening when he was returning from Ajmer in Rajasthan.

“I took lift in a cab from Gurugram to reach home in Faridabad. Four persons, including the driver, were already in the car. As we moved ahead, all of them started thrashing me. They snatched my gold ring, Rs 18,000 cash. Thereafter, they pushed me out of the car near Shankar chowk and fled away,” Arun told the police.

Following the complaint, an FIR has been registered against the four unidentified accused under sections 379-A (snatching) and 323 (hurt) of the IPC.

“We are investigating the case and are trying to identify the accused with the help of the CCTV footage of nearby area,” said the investigating officer.
