Mayor inspects Shri Ram Park in Yamunanagar, stresses on quality work
The Mayor appreciated the efforts being made by all officials of the RWA in making the park beautiful and well-organised
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), is making efforts to make the parks and public places of the twin cities beautiful, clean and citizen-friendly.
In this connection, Mayor Suman Bahamani inspected the ongoing beautification work at Shri Ram Park located at Sarojini Colony, falling under Ward 22 of Yamunanagar.
She closely reviewed the progress and quality of the development works being done in the park along with the officials of the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) and the MCYJ.
During the inspection, the Mayor appreciated the efforts being made by all officials of the RWA in making the park beautiful and well-organised. She, along with RWA president Ghanshyam Dass, Satish Bajaj and Junior Engineer of the MCYJ Abhishek reviewed the park’s greenery, pathways, seating arrangements, cleanliness, lighting and facilities for children and senior citizens.She directed the officials of the MCYJ that all work should be carried out in accordance with prescribed standards and quality should not be compromised with at any level.
She also emphasised that beautification of parks should not be limited to construction work alone, but also include regular maintenance, cleanliness and security. She said that any public space could be improved with the participation of residents.
“If citizens themselves take the initiative to take care of parks, it can bring positive changes to both the city’s identity and quality of life,” the Mayor said.
During the inspection, the Mayor interacted cordially with local and senior citizens present in the park and sought their suggestions regarding the park’s needs, facilities and problems. The citizens demanded more greenery, regular cleaning, streetlights, and additional play equipment for children. The Mayor took all suggestions seriously and directed the officials concerned to take necessary action.
Bahmani said it was our collective responsibility to keep the parks, streets and public spaces around us clean, green, and safe.
She appealed to the citizens to minimise plastic use, dispose of garbage in designated areas and actively participate in cleanliness campaigns.
She said Yamunanagar could be developed into a clean, beautiful, and ideal city with the help of every person.
