MC Poll: BJP leaders reviews biodata of aspirants
Ahead of the MC elections scheduled for March 2, BJP leaders of Karnal district held a meeting and reviewed the biodata of aspirants who have applied for the posts of Mayor, councillors for Karnal Municipal Corporation (KMC), Chairpersons And Councillors for Indri and Nilokheri MCs and the Chairperson for Assandh byelection.
In two days, 17 aspirants have filed nominations for the post of Mayor and over 150 for councillors in the KMC, while four aspirants have applied for the Chairperson’s post for each Indri and Nilokheri and five for the Chairperson’s post in Assandh.
“We have checked the applications filed by the aspirants and sent their names to the party higher leadership,” said Brij Gupta, officiating district president.
Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, Indri MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap, Nilokheri MLA Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, Assandh MLA Yogendra Rana and others also attended the meeting and emphasised on the ‘triple engine’ government.
Anand said every citizen was satisfied with the BJP's policies and expressed confidence that the party would secure victory in the upcoming Municipal Corporation (MC) elections. He said a BJP Mayor would be elected in Karnal and all 20 wards would witness a record victory for the BJP councillors, ensuring the accelerated pace of development in the city.
Anand emphasised that there was no disparity between the state government's promises and its actions. He said while Haryana currently operated under a "double-engine" government, the municipal elections would further establish a "triple-engine" governance model. He credited Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for development initiatives.
