MC to carry out fogging four times in Yamunanagar, Jagadhri
The Municipal Corporation of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) has prepared a schedule to undertake fogging in the twin cities and villages falling under its jurisdiction. The MC will carry out fogging four times in every ward to prevent breeding of mosquitoes and occurrence of malaria, dengue and chikungunya.
“The MCYJ teams carried out fogging in Wards 1 and 12 on September 2, and will do so again on September 16, October 10 and October 24. As per the schedule, fogging will continue until November 9,” said Ayush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner.
The MC has been carrying out fogging ward-wise in zone I (Wards 1-11) and zone II (Wards 12-22) since September 2.
The first round of fogging has been completed in several wards. The MC teams also drained out waterlogged areas. The MC is spraying medicines and oil at places where it is not possible to drain out water, so that mosquito larvae is unable to grow.
Teams of Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Harjeet Singh (zone I) and CSI Sunil Dutt (zone II) are undertaking fogging. “Both zones have two big machines and 12 small machines for fogging, which is being done on main roads and wide lanes by placing the big machine in a vehicle,” said Dutt. Meanwhile, Sinha has appealed to local residents not to allow water to accumulate around them. “Pour oil wherever water is accumulated. Keep changing the water in coolers and do not allow water to collect in things kept on rooftops,” he advised.
