The Medical Council of India (MCI) has turned down a request of former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, who is an MBBS student at Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women at Khanpur Kalan in Sonepat district, for migration to a medical college in Maharashtra.

Though the authorities of the medical college as well the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak, have denied of having any knowledge of the MCI move in this regard, sources maintained that Manushi’s application for migration had been rejected, as it was not submitted within the stipulated time.

UHS Registrar Prof HK Agarwal said the BPS Medical College authorities had forwarded Manushi’s migration application to the university administration, on which they had given a no-objection certificate, subject to the MCI approval.

“The decision taken by the MCI regarding the matter is not in my knowledge as of now,” he said.

BPS Medical College director Dr Renu Garg too said that she was not aware of the current status of Manushi’s migration plea.

However, as per family sources, Manushi has again requested the MCI to reconsider her plea and the reply is awaited as of now.

On work front, Manushi has already been chosen to act opposite Bollywood star Akshay Kumar in a biopic based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, a famous warrior king of India.
